In Cannes, the film market Marché du film finished its work - the business venue of the Cannes Film Festival. This year 17 Russian film companies presented their new films at the Made in Russia joint stand, where made deals to sell the rights to foreign markets and agreed on co-production with the international partners.

Made in Russia – a working space for domestic producers at the Cannes Film Festival, organized by the Russian Export Center. Expocontent Company acted as the official operator of the stand this year.

Due to the Made in Russia platform film companies can develop their business, increase international sales, investing income in further production, creation of high-level projects.

This year the leading Russian film companies demonstrated their works. Central Partnership presented a large multigenre package of expected Russian projects, deals on which were made with China, France, Turkey and Baltic countries.

Art Pictures Studio presented four full-length films co-produced by the film company Vodorod: “Invasion” – the follow-up to Fedor Bondarchuk's fantastic blockbuster “Attraction”, as well as his new directing project “King of the Wind”, the thriller film “Sputnik” directed by Egor Abramenko and the melodrama “Ice” directed by Zhora Kryzhovnikov. A sequel to “Invasion” was sold to the territory of the Latin America. “Invasion” release is planned closer to the date of the Russian release, which is planned for January 1, 2020. Also proposals from South Korea, Japan, Malaysia were received.

Russian World Vision Company (RWV) closed several deals, negotiations on which have already started in the international market (MIPTV). The film “Threshold of Pain” was sold to the French-speaking territories, the film “Indestructible” was sold to China and Latin America, “Breakaway” – to the territory of Latin America, USA, Canada and the United Kingdom. 

Preliminary arrangements for the sale of the last to the territory of China have also been reached. The film “Boggart” has already been released in USA, Canada, UAE and in Cyprus. The rights to it were sold to the German-speaking territories, agreements for the French- and Italian-speaking countries are in the process of being signed.

Communication group PLANETA INFORM continued to sell the horror film “Queen of Spades: Through the Looking Glass”. The film will be released in Latin America in autumn. Moreover, it will be also released in South-East Asia. Companies from USA, the United Kingdom, France, Korea, Thailand are under negotiation. The historical drama “Lenin. Inevitability”, the world premiere of which was occurred in the film market in Cannes, has a special place in the company's catalogue. Especially the European countries are interested in the film, deals are under discussion.

The most successful project for All Media was Karen Oganesyan’s film “Hero”. The project was acquired by the companies Mediaset (Spain) and Splendid (Germany). Representatives of all film companies took part in two thematic meetings on Russian animation and films. In the framework of the events the leading Russian film producers of commercial films, representatives of government entities and private foundations, creators of festival film, as well as foreign market entrants and journalists gathered at the stand. Film producers: Fedor Bondarchuk, Dmitry Rudovsky, Mikhail Vrubel, Sergey Selyanov, Yuri Moskvin, Sasha Shapiro, Ilya Stewart, Val Abel, the Executive Director of the Cinema Foundation Vyacheslav Telnov, the Executive Director of the Kinoprime foundation Anton Malyshev, the Film Director Kirill Mikhanovsky, actors Daria Yekamasova and Maksim Stoyanov, the film critic Anton Dolin and the Editor-in-Chief of Kinoreporter Maria Lemesheva, as well as the Secretary-General of the Moscow Film Commission Svetlana Maksimchenko are attended the events.

“Marché 2019 showed that the demand for Russian content is increasing in world markets both because of the quality improvement and due to the high level of professionalism of companies in the field of sales, − says the Project Manager Evgenia Markova. − Our task is to help the figures of the Russian market to present better their products to all segments of the foreign audience. We are confident that the systemic interaction with international partners will help to improve sales and Russian projects recognition.
