The Bull Directed by Boris Akopov Won the Prize at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival
On July 6, the 54th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival/KVIFF ended in the Czech Republic giving the main prize to the family drama The Father by the Bulgarian-Greek production of directors Christina Grozeva and Petar Valkhanova. 12 feature films were nominated for this award.
The special jury prize went to The Lara film of German director Jan Ole Gerster.
The award for the Best Director was given to the Belgian Tim Milants who directed The Patrick feature.
The best actors awarded were Corinna Harbuch (The Lara, Germany) and Milan Ondrik (The Let There Be Light, Slovakia, Czech Republic).
The main winner in the section “To the East of the West” was the Russian director Boris Akopov with his film “The Bull”. This prize involves payment to the creators of a cash reward in the amount of $ 15 thousand. It will be halved by the director and producer of the prize-winning film.
